Totally unpredictable like the forces of nature the first international lifeguards & firefighters challenge comes to Espinho a quite beach town in Portugal. "Forces of Nature International Lifeguards & Firefighters Challenge 2008" will gather 10 - 20 teams of lifesaving enthusiasts who will battle for the "Forces of Nature Title". This great event will take place on September 27 and 28.

The first "Forces of Nature International Lifeguards Challenge 2008" will pit the best beach lifeguards and firefighters against each other to not only win but to push themselves to new levels of self-confidence.

One of the primary objectives of this challenge is to recognize lifeguards and firefighters worldwide and really show the general public that lifesaving is indeed a profession and not a hobby or just an easy summer job. We hope to achieve greater public awareness of professional life guarding, breaking away from the stereotype of the lifeguard job--sitting in the sun, looking at all the beautiful bodies and working on a great tan. By showcasing the skills and talents necessary to perform their job, lifeguards and firefighters will be able to show that they are well-trained public safety professionals. Aside from showcasing talents, this challenge will give you the opportunity to improve skills by exchanging ideas with other professionals.

Along with competitors, thousands of active surf lifesaving enthusiasts and spectators are expected to flock to Espinho, to watch the best teams of lifeguards and firefighters battle the forces of nature and take home the title "Forces of Nature 2008" and win some valuable prizes.

This event which has never been done before promises a lot of fun ad excitement, with plenty of beach entertainment and nightlife options for our water and fire heroes and their thousands of supporters.

Espinho's beaches are indeed a playground for any beach enthusiast and "Praia da Baia" is a very good surfing beach which will definitely provide challenging conditions for our teams and let's not forget all the surprises we have for this weekend.

It's an honor to invite you to participate in the "Forces of Nature International Lifeguards & Firefighters Challenge 2008" the first event of it's kind to be held in Portugal. This exciting challenge is being organized by Royalty Enterprises, Novo-espinho.com, in collaboration with the city of Espinho, local fire departments, Instituto de Socorro a Naufragos, Navy, Attitude Surfing School, DiverKayakas (Oficial dealer for Malibu Kayaks) Activa Gym and Happy Woman Magazine in Portugal.

Safety will be the a number-one concern for participants, spectators and organizers. Any action that places the participant, or anyone in a dangerous or high-liability situation will not be tolerated and our safety teams will be very vigilant. The number-one job of a lifeguard and firefighter s to prevent accidents. It is essential that we not forget our primary mission just because we are in a competitive environment.
